Ashley Consultants have recently been helping to solve the persistent roof leaks being experienced at Carshalton Boys Sports College in Surrey. Despite numerous attempts to rectify the issues, these leaks were continuing to disrupt teaching and create a poor work environment for both teachers and pupils.
Following a detailed survey and a successful CIF application, refurbishment works have been carried out to both the flat and mono-pitched roofs on two major school blocks. This has also included new rainwater goods to improve drainage and upgraded thermal insulation to reduce heating costs and support the Trust’s sustainability targets.
As part of the works, a redundant water tank has been removed from the roof, eliminating any risk of legionella and creating a more aesthetically pleasing finish. Existing plant has also been relocated to ground level to facilitate simpler and more economical cyclical servicing.
Elsewhere, bespoke passive roof vents have been commissioned to replace the existing defective vents, whilst safe and compliant access has been provided to both roofs to facilitate any future maintenance requirements.
All work was expertly project managed by Ashley Consultants, successfully delivering a fast track summer holiday programme so as to not impact education when the September term started.
