We’re delighted to be working on another fantastic project for Uplands Academy in East Sussex. This time we are helping to improve fire safety compliance in order to address and minimise risk to both property and life.
The project mainly involves the replacement of combustible timber cladding, fascias, soffits and barges with fire rated cementitious equivalents. In addition, the existing dilapidated and combustible timber windows and doors are being upgraded with compliant and highly efficient aluminium double-glazed units, and wall insulation is also being improved to lower the school’s heating costs.
Works are taking place in two separate buildings at the school, with the first being completed in the coming weeks and the second due to commence early 2025. The overall result will be a much safer, compliant, efficient, and aesthetically improved building and educational environment.
